Chris Feeney

Manager, Personnel Security 

At Barringtons, Chris has responsibility for the overall management of the delivery of security vetting services to the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Chris joined Barringtons in early 2010.

Chris is a former Commonwealth Public Servant with twenty five years at the executive level including fifteen at the Director level. Chris is a highly experienced employee having worked in a number of Commonwealth Departments and Agencies ranging from the former Public Service Board, the former Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission and for the last twenty years in the Department of Defence. 

He has worked in a range of challenging environments including financial compliance and governance, security, corporate support, audit, fraud control, debt management, information technology project management, senior executive level human resource management, including recruitment and conditions of service. He has a strong human resource management background. 

He has held a range of positions involving high level trust and probity. He has significant experience in dealing with the development of new policy and procedures, ministerial submissions and briefs. He enjoys the challenge of producing written work to a high standard. He has strong investigative and analytical skills. 

Chris has extensive experience in managing and supervising large teams and budgets across a broad spectrum of activities. Chris has highly developed negotiation and communication skills. He is comfortable in a negotiation role. He always focuses on achieving the most constructive, practical and positive outcomes for all involved. 

Chris holds a certificate IV in Government Personnel Security, a Bachelor of Arts from the Australian National University and a Masters in Strategic Studies from La Trobe University.
