Active Shooters are now the most current risk faced by places of mass gathering in the US.  The clear message from experts is to be prepared.  Having made that point, complacency is setting in in the US with only 55% of potentially affected sites increasing spending on preparedness and half failing to conduct safety drills to address this issue.

One of the major factors in preparing for Active Shooter is communications.  Technology plays an integral part in this process.  The key to successful communications is that it must be multi-level with multiple delivery platforms.  A direct communication strategy to law enforcement is critical. 

Australia has had a taste of this insidious crime.  The more it is spoken about, the more it is reported in the media, the greater the threat. 

Some businesses simply have higher risk due to the nature of their work.
